Green School Program: Learning Organic Waste Management through Maggot Farming
In commemoration of National Waste Awareness Day (HPSN) 2024, PT Indo Raya Tenaga (IRT) continued its Green School Program with students of SMPN 10 Suralaya by providing education on advanced waste management through maggot cultivation.
The maggots, which are larvae of the Black Soldier Fly (BSF), consume sorted organic waste to aid the composting process and can later be used as animal feed. IRT screened a tutorial video and introduced the Magobox as a live demonstration of the maggot breeding process.
Students also participated in an interactive quiz session following the educational activity.
Winners received attractive souvenirs as a token of appreciation.
Green School Program: Edukasi Budidaya Magot
Dalam rangka peringatan Hari Peduli Sampah Nasional (HPSN) 2024, PT Indo Raya Tenaga (IRT) melanjutkan Program Green School bersama siswa SMPN 10 Suralaya dengan memberikan edukasi mengenai tahapan lanjutan dalam pengelolaan sampah, yaitu budidaya magot.
Magot yang berasal dari larva Black Soldier Fly (BSF) ini mengonsumsi sampah organik hasil pemilahan, sehingga membantu proses komposting dan dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai pakan ternak. IRT turut memutar video tutorial serta memperkenalkan Magobox sebagai media pembiakan magot secara langsung.
Para siswa juga diajak berpartisipasi dalam sesi kuis interaktif setelah kegiatan edukasi berlangsung. Sebagai bentuk apresiasi, siswa yang berhasil menjawab pertanyaan kuis dengan tepat memperoleh suvenir menarik.
