ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY
INDO RAYA TENAGA is committed to protecting everyone working on Jawa 9 & 10 2 X 1000 MW USC CSFPP, related to Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS), from Pre-Construction, Construction and Operations and Maintenance phases. Good EHS Performance by everyone who works for Jawa 9 & 10 2 X 1000 MW USC CSFPP is a critical factor to support our business.The company’s EHS Policy objective shall have equal status with our primary business objective.
Our goals is to achieve no harm to people, no damage to the environment and we all go home safely to our families.
Company will strive to:
- Prevent accidents, occupational diseases and environmental damage Jawa 9 & 10 2 X 1000 MW USC CSFPP;
- Comply with all applicable laws, regulations and any other National and International requirements to which the company subscribes to, such as International Finance Corporation (IFC) Performance Standard and World Bank Group’s EHS Guidelines;
- Create a culture/ behavior-based safety in all activity, maintain and sustain EHS Excellence;
- Develop and maintain plans for risk identification and control;
- Empower employees to stop work in order to assure safe activities in our project;
- Ensure that all personnel are physically and mentally fit to perform their duties (Mandatory Medical Check-Up for all personnel involved);
- Consult, listen and respond openly to our customers, employees, neighbors, public interest groups and those who work with us;
- Recognize and reward contribution to outstanding EHS performance;
- Conduct regular audits of Company EHS management system to ensure that it is being observed, target and objectives being evaluated and to seek improvements within the system;
- Continue to minimize the potential environmental and health impact of our operations by implementing sound environmental management and monitoring programs; by reducing waste and emission, and by using energy efficiently;
Responsibility for compliance with Company EHS policy and standards lies with the Managing Director, line management and all staff who are engaged in work on IRT behalf.
Our business plan includes measurable EHS targets. We are all committed to meeting them and continually improve our EHS performance through the EHS Management System and periodic review.

IRT ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL POLICY
The Jawa-9&10 Coal Fired Steam Power Plant is committed to promoting responsible environmental stewardship and socially responsible development for the benefit of present and future generations and improving the quality of life for the community within the Suralaya area. For PT. Indo Raya Tenaga, Environmental and Community protection is a priority, and, to this end, we will strive to maximise positive opportunities associated with our work and minimize the risks and impacts.Specifically, for the Jawa-9 & 10 Coal Fired Steam Power Plant Project, we will:
- Comply and, where possible, exceed all the environmental and social obligations to applicable local, national and international environmental and social legislation and standards including IFC Performance Standards of Environmental and Social Sustainability;
- Work with stakeholders to ensure due consideration of the environmental, sustainability and soci al issues associated with this project during design, construction, operation and decommissioning
- Seek opportunities to support economic and social development in surrounding communities, thereby enhancing the social context of our project and promoting the health, safety and security of both our workers and the local community;
- Contribute positively with direct and indirect employment opportunities to the local workforce at each project stage;
- Respect human rights and implement appropriate labour rights, including providing a safe and healthy work environment. Take steps to ensure that operations do not have negative impacts on community members and workers, and attempt to mitigate and remediate any adverse impacts that may arise; Not discriminate in terms of recruitment, progression, terms and conditions of work and representation on the basis of personal characteristics
unrelated to the inherent job requirements, including gender, race, colour, disability, age, religion, marital status etc;
- Provide fairness and transparency in land acquisition and resettlement;
- Operate in a manner compliant with national and international anti bribery and corruption legislation, and with appropriate consideration of audit, due diligence and potential conflicts of interest;
- Deliver safe, reliable and efficient operations in a manner which contributes to our goal of no damage to the environment;
- Strive to use proven, commercially feasible state-of-the-art technology. Target high energy efficiency, reduce water consumption, and maximise waste reuse and recycling, thereby reducing the quantities of waste going to landfill; monitor, measure and improve our environmental performance through a risk-based approach to environmental protection;
- Accommodate and adopt a decommissioning and remediation strategy to consider site after care when plant operations have ended;
- Review the environmental and social policy and objectives annually in order to consider the need for any amendments in the light of changing circumstances.
